FAQ - Frequently asked questions

How much do travel vaccines cost in Alberta?

The cost of travel vaccines in Alberta varies by vaccine and clinic. At Whole Health Pharmacy Edmonton Travel Clinic, we do not charge consultation, injection, or certificate fees—you only pay for the vaccines you need. Prices typically range from $40 to $200 per vaccine depending on the type.

If your insurance plan includes coverage for vaccines, we can directly bill your insurance company—just provide us with your details ahead of time and we’ll confirm eligibility.

How to get vaccine in Edmonton?

To get travel vaccines in Edmonton, you’ll need to visit a travel clinic, as these vaccines are not covered by Alberta Health, unlike publicly funded vaccines such as the flu or COVID-19 shot. Travel vaccines must be paid for out-of-pocket, and not all pharmacies offer them. For specialized vaccines like yellow fever, you must visit a Yellow Fever Designated Centre such as Whole Health Travel Clinic in Edmonton.

We offer convenient online booking, no consultation or injection fees, and a full range of vaccines including yellow fever, typhoid, hepatitis A/B, and more.

How long before a trip should you get vaccines?

Ideally, you should get travel vaccines 4 to 6 weeks before your trip. This gives your body time to build immunity and ensures full protection, especially for vaccines that require more than one dose.
